Prof James R. Mihelcic
University of South Florida
James is the Samuel L. and Julia M. Flom Endowed Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of South Florida. He directs International Sustainable Development Programs in Engineering and a National Research Center for Reinventing Aging Infrastructure for Nutrient Management.
Dr. Mihelcic is a past president of the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP), a member of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Chartered Science Advisory Board, a Board Certified Environmental Engineering Member and past Board Trustee of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers & Scientists (AAEES). In 2016 his achievements in education, research, and service in sustainability and water management were recognized by his election as a Fellow with AEESP and the Water Environment Federation (WEF). He is lead author for 3 engineering textbooks (with a focus on sustainable design and global perspective) and has over 170 publications to his credit.
